许愿池

WISHING POND

原为云龙山东麓兴化禅寺前古井,始建于明代晚期至清代。

Originally been an ancient well in front of Xinghua Temple at the eastern side of Yunlong mountain, this well was frist built in the late Ming Dynasty.

古井为一石砌水井,水井呈圆柱状,外径约3.2米,内径约1.9米,井深距地表约9米。水井本体构造可分为2段,即井体上段和下段;井体上段:地表至地表下5.3-6米,为石块错缝堆砌;井体下段:人工堆砌的井圈至井底,为人工在岩石本体上竖直向下开凿出圆柱状井圈,井圈表面保留有清晰的人工凿痕。

The ancient well is a stone built well, which is cylindrical, with an outer diameter of about 3.2m, an inner diameter of about 1.9m, and a depth of about 9m from the surface. The structure of the well body can be divided into two sections, i.e. the upper section and the lower section of the well body. The upper section of the well body: from the surface to 5.3-6m below the surface, is staggered stacking of stones; The lower section of the well body: the manually stacked well ring to the bottom of the well, is to manually dig a cylindrical well ring vertically and downward on the rock body, and the surface of the well ring remains clear manual chisel marks.

2021年云东文化街区工程实施中,将此古井向西迁移约50米,并加装石栏杆,令其成为寺前公共广场的一部分。

During the implementation of Yundong Cultural District project in 2021, the ancient well was relocated to the West for about 50m, surrouded with stone railings, to make it as part of the public square in front of the temple.
